First Time in Ward

I just got discharged on Tuesday after spending a week in hospital.
Guess what, it's my first time being warded.
I was warded due to a stupid act of me while cooking.
I forgot to switch off the gas stove when I'm answering the call from an unknown number from Singapore.
Then when I realised that I forgot to switch off the gas stove, its too late as the wok has been filled with fire instead of oil.
Under panic condition, I remove the wok from the stove without any gloves or wet cloth.
Then accidentally I spilled the burning oil onto my right palm and lost my grip on the wok and the remaining burning oil hit both of my legs.
It causes me to suffer second degree deep partial thickness burn of 4.5%.

I'm warded at the coldest ward of Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Why I said that it's the coldest ward.
It's the only ward with six 3hp air conditioners in one room of four patients.
This does not include the central air conditioner from the vent.

The average temperature is about 7 degree Celcius.

The service by the nurses and the doctors in the ward were fantastic.

Four months of break!!!

I'm now in Klang Valley to spend my semester break of four months.

After fourteen weeks of class... finally it's time to mark this semester to an end...

Now I only have remaining of 25 more days to go before a real break...

a week for preparations for the finals and the balance is the days that I'm going to face the finals....

Then I'll be flying to Singapore to visit the new Universal Studio...

Hope that everyone that are going to sit for finals not to burn the midnight oil....

Its nearly two years since I graduated from SBU or formerly known as Bukit Bintang Girls School...

Some of you might ask why a boy like me graduating from a girl school...

To answer that, SBU is actually a co-ed school formed in 2003 and I'm the first batch of boys admitted to this school...after BBGS was demolished in 2001 to make way for the development of Pavilion KL which is a majestic mall for shopping...

During these break, in a serendipity I played some of the videos I made using Windows Movie Maker few months back and I listened to 'Within These Wall'...

I'm back Again!!!

I safely reached my house 6.30pm last Friday after three hours of bus journey, 15 minutes of LRT journey and almost two hours trapped in my dad's vehicle due to jam traffic jam...

I'll be here till the 19th September...

Tomorrow will be my first day of my part-time job...

Urhmm, you might ask when was my last time doing part-time job...

To answer you that question, its a week after my SPM or to be precise, its December 2008 till February 2009...

Some might ask why I get a job during this short break....

Its simple, I'm gaining some money in order for myself to get a second-hand car, most probably a Proton Iswara or a Proton Wira....

Besides doing part-time job, I'm going to complete some of my tasks and assignments during this break...

If time is sufficient, I might meet up some of my high school friends before the fly of to start their studies abroad...

For those(friends) who wanted to meet me during this break, please do meet me on 17th and 18th as I'm free on these two days...

Balik Kampung Mood!!!

With or without realising, I actually completed seven out of fourteen++ weeks of lecture which is half of the semester...

This means, mid-semester break is around the corner...

Finally, its time for me to lay back and relax my mind from any academic deals...

Besides that, its also a time for me to work part-time at my mom's restaurant in order for me to gain some money to pay the deposit of a second-hand Proton Iswara that I wanted to buy end of this year and the money for my vacation after my finals ...

My First Encounter at Bukit Gambang Water Park...

Although I'm in Gambang for a year, I never entered Bukit Gambang Water Park before...

If you considered my attempt of passing by, I did it on numerous occasions...

Last Friday, 27th of August 2010, I went to Bukit Gambang Water Park for the first time with a group of friends that have been there before...

Our trip started at 9.20 a.m....

Guess what?

During the journey, the vehicle that I'm riding ran out of diesel...

Luckily the gas station is a stone throw away...

Without wasting our time, we requested help from the other car to get RM3.50 worth of diesel to start up the car to enable us to have our breakfast at Gambang Town before refueling at Gambang Town...

Sharp 10 o' clock we arrived at Bukit Gambang Water Park...

We entered the water park around 10.20 a.m.

First, we played the wave pool and followed by the mat of free-fall...

Then we played the dark tunnel slide and the amazing 6-person tube slide...

At 3pm I changed my clothes as I'm do not want to play under the rain...

Some of them played under the rain...

We departed from BGWP at 5.30pm before heading to E-Garden to have our dinner.

My dinner was Pork Ribs with Rice and Barley as the drink...

Evolving!!!

In a matter of hours, I'll evolve from Junior to become a Senior at University of Malaysia Pahang as I'm about to return to campus to start my new academic year...

Year 2010/2011...

I'm glad that I had accomplished several stuff during this long holidays although I did not accomplish some of it...

Things that I had accomplished during this holidays...

a) Going out with high school friends.

b) Getting a driving license...

c) Renewed my passport...

d) Sat for MUET...... Although its just a Band 4 but I'm still glad as I only attend only 20hours of MUET class...

e) Upgraded my L1010's Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium...

f) Completed 300 over episodes of various drama's (HK, US, etc.)

g) Went for movie marathon.

h) Went for few one-day-trips to several states in Penisular Malaysia...

i) Went back to high school and spend a few hours there...

j) Converted my 12-year old's MyKad to 18 year old MyKad

k) Learned how to prepare Sushi

Things that is not accomplished

a) Did not go for a part-time job on weekends.

b) Went overseas.

c) Attend concerts.

d) Exercise accordingly...

e) Update my blog frequently...

I hope that I'll will complete those incomplete task that I set for myself in the following holidays....

Yesterday, Maxis had just done a soft launch for HTC Desire...
Maxis is the only telco company to have the privilege to sell the fastest (for time being) Android enabled phone one month earlier compare to other telco.

Too bad Maxis does not offer packages for prepaid users like me...

I'm eyeing to get myself one end of this year if there will be no new phones that can bet it...

I think that its been a while that I did not post things to my blog...

As you can see that I'm involved with Chemical Engineering Students' Society (CHEST) as the Head of Publicity and Publication Unit...

That's not the sole reason why I'm not blogging for a month, having idea drain also causes me not to blog...

Finally my Finals for my second semester has ended last Thursday and it significance the start of my holidays...

After going through a light and easy semester, I must brush up my weaknesses during this break besides getting myself a driving license and some cash from part-time job...

If I do not do that, I will not have a light and easy semester ahead as I'll be learning Thermodynamics, Engineering Mechanics, Material and Energy Balances and Electrical Technology which requires plenty of calculus...

Differentiate and Integrate...

As usual there will be Engineering Lab session and English for Communication for next semester....

Besides learning subjects mentioned above, I'm going to learn Technopreneurship and Islamic Institution....

During this resting moment, I'm looking forward for gathering, reunion etc. with friends...

A Joyous 'Family' Trip

On the 13th of March, I went to Cherating with 19 other friends that I met while organising the UMP CNY '10 Event.

The bunch of friends were the members of Food & Beverages unit along with our beloved 'mother' aka our head unit, Ong Huoy Ying...

We went there by using the chartered bus offered by our university's management.

Our journey started at 10.30am...

Throughout the journey, there were songs singing, throwing the beach ball in the bus and photo session in the bus...

At noon, we stopped at Berserah to have our lunch at KFC Berserah.

Then we continued our journey till we reached to the apartment we rented at Pantai Sungai Ular...

The place we rented is Sanctuary Resort Cherating.

We placed all our belongings and have a rest after few hours of bus ride before getting ourselves wet at the beach.

We had a great time at the beach, especially playing with the sand and covering our assistant head unit with sand.

Then, we dip ourselves in the swimming pool and we had a water polo game there.

That evening, we had steamboat as our dinner.

Although the steamboat prepared is not as grand as the one my actual family normally do annually in Cameron Highlands, its a very enjoyable one as its prepared by most of our 'family' members.

This is what you call the importance of body chemistry!

That night, we played poker card games which include big two.

We also watch Woo Hoo.

After wacthing Woo Hoo, our 'family' was split into two groups, one having ghost story telling session and one having their great time with big two.

At 1am in the morning, we prepared for our next activity but it is failed by the weather as it started to rain when we set up our BBQ set.

We postponed the activity to 9am.

It might be a joke to you to see people doing BBQ session under the scorching sun but you must believe me as we did ours under the mighty sun.

At noon we packed our belonging before departing back to our campus.

I hope that we can be a 'family' forever without looking at distance and boundaries.

Our spirit will continue.

Busy Weekend: Part 3

As early as 20 minutes past seven, I woke up to get ready for Briged Siswa's event, gotong royong.

The bus departed from UMP to Kg. Pelak, Pekan at eight o'clock.

The journey took half an hour.

At there we were greeted by the villagers warmly...

After having breakfast we were divided into four groups.

My group were assigned to clean up the cemetery area.

I took about two hours for my group along with the villagers to clean up the cemetery.

12.30pm I took my lunch, I was served Ikan Patin with rice and cabbage masak lemak and siren (syrup + orange) in malay as si for sirap and ren for oren as my drink.

Then we left the village for UMP at 2pm and reached my campus at a quarter to three.

Then I continued my work at Block W to wrap the remainding hampers...

Then at five in the evening, I went to the carnival to continue assisting the carnival unit till 9pm...

Then, I went to block W to continue doing the last hamper wrapping...

Then at midnight, our unit were asked to help the 'logistic' unit to shift the things from the square in front of the girls hostel to Block W...

Our job is done at two in the morning before having a briefing session regarding the last day till three in morning.

Busy Weekend: Part 2

Normally when it's a public holiday, I'll be getting up late (minutes before noon) as I watched movies via my laptop till late night but its differs for Maulidur Rasul as I woke up as early as nine o' clock in the morning. With just merely five hours of sleep, I get myself ready to help the carnival unit to prepare the set-ups as they were lacking of members.

My work is done after 2pm then I had myself only a two hours of rest as I'm needed to rush back to assist the carnival unit till 9pm...

Although I'm required to assist them till 9pm only but I stayed to help them till 10pm.

At 10pm, I got myself moved to Block W to wrap several hampers as ordered by our beloved head unit of food and beverages.

Work is only done when it's twelve...

Then we had our own unit's post mortem before having one with the program director of CNY '10 event.

Things were settled at two o' clock in the morning.

Busy Weekend: Part 1

It was the starting of my busy weekend...

It's the eve of Friday...

Normally, the eve of Friday will be my most relaxing night...

But its different for 25th of February 2010...

I'm having a test for Organic Chemistry on that night, then I need to rush myself to meet the head of food for the CNY Carnival then to CHEST(Chemical Engineeing Society) to do the banner for the Maulidur Rasul celebration.

At half past 10, I went to the main lecture hall a.k.a WDKU1 to attend the general meeting of CNY '10 celebration....

I'm stranded in the meeting for nearly two hours of nothing as there were no proper coordination between the units due to the last minute changes that were caused by several unwanted factors.

After the meeting around minutes past midnight, I'm required to rush myself to the square in front of the girl's hostel to set-up the carnival as logistic unit was 'lacking' of 'members'.

My service is done for that particular morning at a quarter to three in the morning.

Light = Portable or Less Function?

Look at my beautiful babes.

On the right is my new HP Mini 210 and Fujitsu L1010 on the right.

Well, I'm sure that most of you will ask me why have two computers.

To answer that question netbook is for portability and notebook is for performance but not as good as desktop.

After a week using my mini.

I feel that you should get yourself a netbook if you can afford it.

Honestly its really portable.

About a kilogram of mass, need not to bring bulky notebook to Starbucks or McDonald's to surf the net.

But if you are using heavy softwares such as Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Autodesk AutoCAD 2010, get yourself a notebook first then get a netbook.

I watched a few movies that I downloaded before coming back to KL for the Chinese New Year break, guess what?

The video played well like a portable DVD player.

No drop of quality if you are playing the video from the hard disk drive.

But there is a fall back when I played Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball via my USB Flash Drive, the rendering of the video drop causes the frames per second (fps) to drop from 30fps to 15-20fps.

My advice, transfer the video to you hard disk before watching it.

Using Skype is fine as I'm given two choice, using the Skype in my Windows or Skype in HP Quick Web interface.

I can log in to my Skype without entering my Windows.

Surfing the net also can be done without entering the Windows.

This reduce the time of getting yourself on the net as entering the Windows take at least half of a minute, the HP Quick Web interface is ready to be use as you turn on the netbook like your PDA just without touchscreen.

In a nut shell, get yourself a netbook if you want to surf the net with portability and less fuss.

Welcoming the Roaring Year of Tiger

Sorry for the late publish for this post.

Before I continue, I would like to wish all Malaysians and Chinese around the world Happy Chinese New Year.

Besides that, I would like to wish you all Happy Valentines including singles as Valentines is meant for day of love not day of couples.

I reached KL on the 12th February 2010. It took four and a half hours from Gambang to Pekeliling as there were a few distraction that causes the delay.

Among the distractions were the present of an irresponsible passenger that took extra 45 minutes of break at a Rest and Relax stop and a few more that I shall not discuss here as it is very sensitive to talk about.

This year was my family's first time having reunion dinner at my new house.

The dinner was held on Chinese New Year's Eve.

Although it was a simple dinner with merely nine person, but we had a great time.

As usual there will be prawns and sea cucumbers as they significant happiness in Cantonese.

This year we got extra large prawns and sea cucumbers as my dad did not went to the wet market of Pudu to get it but from the jetty in Mersing.

The prawns we had this year is four times larger than what we had last year but at the same price.

Besides that, mom cooked me my favourite vegetable dish, Hong Kong Choi Sam with Shitake Mushrooms and few slices of canned abalone.

There were also my family's favourite on the table, Pei Pa Roasted Duck and Emperor's Chicken.

We had grass jelly and yee sang as our dessert.

On the first day of Year of Tiger, my family did some prayers to the ancestor (a Chinese culture not Buddhist culture) before going to my maternal grandmother's house.

After going to my grandma's house, we went to my maternal granduncle's house to pay respect since he's the eldest in terms of position though he is a decade younger than my grandma.

There I had fresh oysters, salmon sashimi, roasted lamb and stir fried beef as my main course.

I took some fried mee hoon as starter. Then I had some Ice Kacang as my dessert as I do not take alcohol. My brother get himself some red wine and cocktail as his dessert.

Then we went to my paternal granduncle's house.

There, all my father's relatives gathered at there including Uncle Andrew from Melbourne except my aunt which is staying in Kota Kinabalu.

That night we went to my grandaunt's house to have dinner.

That's all for my reunion dinner and my first day of new year.

Almost the End of the First Half of Semester II 2009/2010

After seven or six weeks of classes, Chinese New Year is nearing!!!

But before that, I need work hard for a week because the season of test has arrived.

Maths II and Grammar Test.

Just sat for Computer Application yesterday and Engineering Drawing a fortnight ago.

Well, its also time for plenty of assignments.

Not just only that, I'm just been elected as a student representative for my program to my Faculty's Student Society as an Exco for Publicity. As the new member of the committee I'm required to scout for new members to work with me and prepare a report on changes should be done to CHEST aka Chemical Engineering Society of UMP by next Thursday night as there is going to be a meeting on Thursday night.

These are the thing that I should face before going for a week holiday.

I'm craving for Yee Sang.

Besides that, I'm going to get my brand new HP mini 210 when I returned home as it is scheduled to be delivered on this Monday's afternoon.

A Distinquish Talk by a CEO.

Initially, I was forced to attend a talk by the

Chief Executive Officer of our National Car Manufacturer, Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel. I'm required to attend this event because we need to obtain some

marks for Briged Siswa.

The title of the talk is, 'Human Resource Management'.

The whole talk is being carried on in English,

which I expected from a CEO would do.

I enjoyed his talk especially his point of view

about the changes that we need to make.

As he mentioned, a country progress needs to have changes in

human capital not physical changes

such as economy.

To have change we must not have resistance towards changes without leaving our own morals

and Asian qualities.

Besides that, I do agree that we must not simply choose a leader

or an employee based own a short period of

time.

He or she might perform well in the interview but might not in the future.

As Rome is not built in a day, we must spend several years of

devised research to change the nation along with its citizen.

This is what most of the governments in everywhere are lacking off

which includes our nation.

I enjoyed the talk and felt that my precious time is not wasted as

most talk does.

I hope that we will have more such talks in the future with a

proper seating in the Sports Complex as I'm struggling to seat comfortably.

Mini 210.

Yesterday I just signed-up for the Streamyx Uni Cool Pack as stated in the 2010 Budget.

I'm not fond of the wi-fi nor the internet since my hostel area is equipped with an awesome internet speed up to 100Mbps with average 30% of its actual ability.

I'm actually into this new HP Mini 210 as my secondary computer after my Fujitsu L1010.

The RRP is RM1349 but I'm paying RM1200 to get it as this package requires me to pay RM50 per month for two years which cost me RM1200 along with 384kbps internet for my uncle since I used his house's line to apply this package and an TM Hotzone ID that enable me to surf the net if the server of my campus is down.

Besides I'm getting 50 legal licensed songs per month from hypptunes.

I hope that I will be able to see my mini when I return home for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.

With this, I do not need to bring my hot buddy to see my lecturers to view the slides that I want to discuss about.

This does not mean that I do not want my L1010 because this mini will not be able to allow me to run Microsoft Visio, Auto-Cad or Aspen.

To all local university students grab a unit of yours while the 100,000 units of Mini 210 is gone.

All you need is your Student ID, letter of entry to your university, I.C. and an endorsement to prove that you are a first year or second year student of that particular institute.

Last week we were informed by the press about the chaos happened in our nation due to misunderstanding of the usage of a word.
Few churches were being attacked by unknown parties due to the decission of the High Court on the 31st of December 2009 to allow non-muslim to use the word 'Allah'.
Here, I would like to comment as a non-muslim and a non-christian.
I'm confused about the definition stated in Oxford Dictionary.
As stated in the book, the word 'Allah' means God in Arabic and it is first used by the Arabians since the exixtance of Abraham by his followers.
As we know that, Abraham existed before the era of Islamic Civilisation as stated in our textbooks.
If the word 'Allah' is not allowed to be used by all, I think that the word Tuhan cannot substitute it as it means 'The Lord'. So what should say in malay when it comes to 'The Lord God', Tuhan Tuhan?According to the malay metaphore, it shows plurality in the phrase and it might caused confusion to the public that Christianity practices polytheism. In this era, no religion practices polytheism which includes Christianity.
In my opinion, the word should be allowed to be used by all God believers but I'm not in a state of oppossing our muslim friends rights to exclusive it.
If we want to exclusive it for muslims, we should ask the linguistic experts to invent a new word to substitute the word 'Allah', so the new word can be used by non-muslims.
Besides, I heard some words like 'bin' and 'binti' should be only used by muslims.
Here again, according to Kamus Dewan, 'bin' means 'anak lelaki kepada' or son of in Arabic same goes for 'binti' as for daughter.
Futhermore, Arabic names like Hussein also being used by non-muslim which includes a prominent leader, Barrack Hussein Obama. This does not means his muslim.
In conclusion, we must not make so much of fuss over words that can disrupt our nation's peace.
Thus a new word should be invented to substitute the word 'Allah'. If we want to preach 1Malaysia and unity we must not add oil to fire as history proved us that unity is important for nation's interest.

10th Year of the Second Milenium

Since I started my new semester, I will be informing you more about my life as a university student.

Without us realizing, it's going to be year 2010 tomorrow.

New year, new resolution.

That's what you always hear.

Before looking up for a new resolution, lets look at what you did and accomplished for the year of 2009.

Below are what I done and achieved of year 2009:

1) Got a job in a computer shop.

2) Got straight A's in my SPM.

3) Went to Cameron Highlands for vacation with family.

4) Went for National Service in Tawau for 84+/- days.

5) Got interviewed for Petronas Scholarship but did not get to secure the scholarship.

6) Celebrated my 18th birthday 1700++ km away from home (in a NS camp).

7) Directed the sketch for the closing ceremony for my National Service Camp.

8) Got the offer to continue my studies in University of Malaysia Pahang.

9) Cycled from Kuantan to Teluk Chempedak (15-16km for return journey).

10)Went to Sandakan for vacation (alone)

11)In charge of Civilization Week for my section.

12)Got CGPA 3.98 for my first Semester.

13)Moved to a new house.

14)Bought a new laptop to replace my old buddy along with a speaker and a Walkman.

15)Movie marathon during the holidays(Hong Kong drama actually).

16)Went to Penang to meet a long lost friend of my dad's and celebrated Christmas.

Well my 2010's resolution(s) are :

1)Reduce my body mass index from 24.8 to 22.0-23.5

2)Keep my CGPA above 3.90

3)Get a Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional enabled phone.

4)Visit any ASEAN country besides Malaysia.(Need to renew my passport first)

5)Get plenty of ANG PAU's during Chinese New Year.

6)Understand Auto-CAD better.

7)Be more active in sports than usual. (Not too active)

8)Get more savings.

9)Do part-time jobs on weekends during semester break.

10)Go outing with alma mater friends during semester break.(away from KL)

11)Score at least Band 4 for MUET.

12)Improve my Mandarin.

My house phone line has just installed yesterday after almost three weeks of waiting.

My problem has not ended.

Guess what?

I need to wait for three or seven working days to get my Streamyx done.

That's what they said that they need to transfer the phone line along with the 'Screamyx'.

Please do not tell me that I'm required to wait for another three weeks for the Screamyx.

Fortunately I'm able to get my laptop connected to a Wi-Fi connection of a coffee shop behind my house from my room to allow myself to surf the net but it's available 11am-4pm only.

Screw TM for not being able to give quality service.
We subscribers paying money to this lousy ISP and phone company.

Please stop its monopoly.

What the use of spending much money on the Malaysian Tiger that scored 1-0 against Vietnam last week in SEA Games if we are unable to have the same speed of Internet as Ho Chin Minh.

There are enjoying 10Mbps in urban area.

Does anyone knows that when you want to buy something from overseas, the Custom Department requires you to present them a fixed line number?

Besides that, Pos Malaysia requires you to present them a fixed line number when you are posting some items overseas.

Why government most impose such rules that allows the monopoly of TM to grow even bigger?

What is the purpose of having 1Malaysia Concept ,'People first, performance now', if the government still allows such policy that encourages monopoly.

Once again, please stop such monopoly.

Besides, TM need to work 5+1 days a week excluding National Public Holidays since TM is a Private owned listed company.

This can allow them to increase their creditability.

If Maxis, Digi and U mobile can make their staff to work 5+1 days a week by giving more salary pay.

Furthermore, certain private service sectors in the market requires them to be opened everyday including Public Holidays such as food sector, computing, medical sector, etc.

If these sectors are able to do it, why not TM.

In a nut shell stop TM's monopoly.

On the 3rd of December 2009, I went to TM Point Pandan Indah to transfer the fixed line and the Streamyx(Should call it Screamyx) of my old house to the new house that I'm currently residing in Bandar Damai Perdana.

Guess what?

It's still not done yet till now.

Yesterday, I went to TM Point again along with my dad to question them about the delay.

Do you want to know what is the reply of their sales representative?

She replied, sir its none of my business so I do not know anything about it and try to call 100 for more info.

My dad told her that we tried already and the person on the line said that we need to go to the nearest TM point to complain about it.

Then she said that she's just a sales representative and she's not involved in this transaction.

Then we demanded to see the manager of the branch.

Do you know what she told us before getting us the manager?

She said that we are stubborn.

So this is what you call productivity.

When the manager listened to our problem, we were told that our address is not valid that became the root of the problem.

We showed her the electric bill and water bill that contained the address of our new home and questioned her about the validity of the address.

Then she called a few numbers and told us that our area is not covered with TM line.

Then we informed her that our neighbour has TM fixed line and we even showed the picture TM junction box located in the field in front of our house.

After a few calls she made, she found out that TM made their mistake.

Guess what?

Taman Desa Bukit Cahaya, Bandar Damai Perdana is registered as Taman Desa Cahaya, Bandar Damai Perdana.

Do you think that TM should make such mistake?

Yesterday, I bought a Futjitsu L1010 Laptop for RM2999 and an Edifier HCS 2330 Speaker for RM270 from the PIKOM PC Fair.

As I told you, I'm getting a new laptop to replace my old buddy, HP520 Business Series after two years using him. Now he will be serving my younger brother.

Do you know why am I getting a new laptop?

Well these are my reasons:

Need higher specifications to run CAD for my Engineering Drawing subject.

Need a laptop with Web Cam to enable me to do video call via Skype, Live Messenger or Oovoo.

Need a laptop with longer battery life as my old buddy is very energy hungry though its running on 6 cells.

My brother needs a laptop, so he can use my old buddy when I get a new partner which is L1010.

Need a laptop with HDD shock absorber as my old buddy has his 80GB HDD when dead before replacing a 250GB one.

Getting a new speaker is to allow me to enjoy nice musics without harming my laptop's speaker at my campus although my L1010's speaker is actually good enough.

It also allows me to play songs without switching my laptop on as I can plug my Walkman.

After two weeks of exam, finally I'm back home.

It's over now and it signifies the start of my Semester Break that will last for five weeks.

I reached Kuala Lumpur at 1.30 pm.

I took me three hours for the journey from my campus to Kuala Lumpur, including the 30 minutes stop for lunch by the bus driver at Temerloh, Pahang.

When I reached home, I placed my luggage and went to my alma mater to get this year's copy of The Legacy.

Then I went back home along with my younger brother.

On the way, we stopped at a mamak corner and had our snack there.

Then back home I took a bath and switch on the computer.

One of the website that I visited is maybank2u.com. I log on to check my saving's status because I'km going to get myself a new laptop in two weeks time.

Guess what?

I'm rewarded by Maybank a Mc.Donald's voucher in conjunction of an event organised by the bank.

I think I'm going to treat my younger brother using this voucher.

End of Lecture for First Semester

Happy Halloween.

Today was my last day of lecture for this semester.
It ended with a General Physics Test 2 that lasted for one and a half hour.
I would like to ask whether it is ethical for people to cheat during their quizzes, test or even exam.
I found out that it's a norm for nowadays students to cheat during these events.
I had questioned a few person that I saw them cheating. Do you know what is their reply?
"Man, the person invigilating does not care, so take up the chance to CHEAT." Some even said that its normal for humans to cheat in life especially in the society.
These people should know that you are able cheat the whole world but you not able to cheat yourself. If they are really build up with adequate knowledge before going for test, they should not cheat. When they cheat, they are actually underestimating their own ability to strive in life.

Do you think that it's fair for those who really worked hard and yet some who did not score the same with those who cheated? To me those who cheats are just being unfair to themselves actually.

A Night to Embrace Chinese Culture with Varsity-mates

Though it's about two weeks the Mid-Autumn Festival has past, but the spirit of having it with friends is not extinguished even time passes. Nevertheless, its still the eighth lunar month so its still reasonable to celebrate the cherished event at this moment of time.
The event started at eight o' clock in the evening and its raining cats and dogs that time. With such spirit, such minor weather change will not stop the even from going smoothly.
There were performance by chinese martial arts performers, chinese orchestra, drum player ,etc.
There is even an exhibition about the variety chinese culture especially about this very festival.

Shopping for Grocery.

My food storage is decreasing, so it's time for me to get my body to the town which is 20 miles away from my campus.
It's a half an hour journey from Gambang to Kuantan.
At there, I went to Mc.Donalds and get myself a Big Mac with a Light Coke and a Chocolate Sundae.
It comes with a Coca Cola Glass Contour with the price 0f RM12.75 including the 5% tax.
It just took me 20 minutes for me to fill the basket with food and drinks at Carrefour.
I'm RM35+/- poorer after buying my supplies.
I'm sure that you will ask on what I bought for RM35.
I bought three bags of instant noodles, a bag of instant rice noodles, two bottles of Diet Coke, four packets of instant porridge, two boxes of instant mushroom soup and a carton of eggs.
Then I had my hair cut by a barber at a stall in Stadium Darul Makmur for RM8.
The barber took 45 minutes to deal with my hair from this

After spending three hours at Kuantan, I went to the place that University of Malaysia Pahang stops to aboard it.
The journey back to campus is not as smooth as the journey heading to Kuantan because the bus that I aboarded is running on a low level of diesel.
The bus stopped several times because the engine stop generating adequate power for it to move further.
To enable the bus to move well, the air-conditioning system is turn off to reduce the power consumption.
At last I reached safely at my campus at a quarter to seven in the evening.

Today I'm returning to my campus to resume my second half of the first semester.

This means:

-Lots of things need to complete.

-More quizzes.

-Need to excel in subjects such as General Physics and Mathematics 1 (final exam and the second test is around the corner).

-More serious action, less jokes.

-Lesser food supplies.(Need to save money to buy a newer laptop to replace my two year old buddy)

-Less tasty food.

-No more Physics Lab.

That's the journey of an average student.

Trip to Sandakan, The City of Nature

It's been a quarter of a year that I did not step myself to the Land Below the Wind.

I went there to fill my mid-semester break as a vacation.

I departed LCCT at 0715 hours by a boarding Flight AK 5160 and reached the airport of Sandakan at 1000hours.

After getting my luggage and the immigration procedure to settle, I took a mini van @ mini bus to the town.

I reached to about an hour before noon.

At there, I checked into a hotel before going for my lunch.

I had some grilled fish as my lunch before heading to the house of our cousins, the Orang Utans at the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre for Orang Utan.

The centre is situated a mile from the Sandakan branch campus of University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

At there, I get to get myself close to our cousins which has about 96% of our genetic informations.

Then, I had a can of 100 PLUS to quench my thirst after having an hour of walking in the forest of Sepilok.

Right before dawn, I went to the Rotary Club Observatory Pavilion situated on top of the hill where the site of house of a well known author, Agnes Keith. At the pavilion, you can have an awesome panorama of Elopura.

From the pavilion, you can also see that the traffic is not as worse as the want we face in Cheras though, the population of the city is approximately equal to Cheras.

It is more common for you to find roundabouts compare to traffic lights.

I had steamboat as my dinner at a restaurant in the central market.

I'm served with seafood such as shell fish that include oysters, lala and abalone, crab, prawns and tuna with an interesting price that is not available in Kuala Lumpur, RM18.00 only!!!

That night, I had a walk along the coastal area and had a cup of bubble milk shake. For your information, North Borneo Chinese is highly influenced by the culture of Hong Kong Islanders and Taiwanese because most of the Chinese community of that state have very long and established trading activities with Hong Kong and Taiwan. Thus, it is not a shock to see certain food and drinks of those countries can be found fondly at Sandakan such as the bubble milk shake and Taiwanese pancakes.

Before I go for sleep after a day long of traveling about a thousand miles, I checked my e-mail using the WiFi connection of the hotel.

The next morning, I had 'Roti Kahwin' and a glass of hot chocolate as my breakfast before starting my journey to explore the city with plenty of 'Timber Tycoons'.

I went to a incredible temple built in 1987 that is funded by most of the 'Timber Tycoons'.

It is located on the peak of a hill facing the harbour of Sandakan where timbers are collected and exported to several East Asian countries.

Then, I had Nasi Minyak as my lunch to gain some energy to continue my trip.

My next checkpoint is the infamous site of the camp of the Prisoners of War (P.O.W.) during the occupation of the Land of the Rising Sun where now stands the War Memorial of the Death March. There were only six survivors of the brutal Death March.

A structure aged more than a century is my last stop of the day. On the way to the mentioned structure, I passed by an ancient Chinese cemetery site and it is said to be existed in the late 1790s. The mentioned monument is the St. Michael Church that took 20 years to be completed and it survived the bombing of Elopura by the Allied during the Japanese Occupation.

That evening, I had Gado-gado(Similiar to Mamak Rojak) and Bakso(noodle dish with meatballs) to fill my roaring stomach. Honeydew with sago drink as the dessert.

The next morning, I took an express bus to Lahad Datu to meet some of my NS mates.

My trip to the City of Nature is an enjoyable moment and I hope that I am able to have a night stay at Pulau Penyu of Sandakan to observe turtles laying eggs when I come to visit this lovely city.

The Project Manager

It's been a while that I did not update my blog because the internet connection in my campus is not at it's best performance because some upgrading work is done. I hope that it will not take a long period because slow internet means no life. To add insult to injury, I'm having several tests and it is done during my normal leisure time, thus no time to update this blog.

I'm the project manager for my Islamic and Asian Civilization Studies subject a.k.a. TITAS. When my lecturer, En. Fazullah appointed me as the project manager,I asked him why am I chosen instead my lecture group monitor and if I were to screw-up this project, I'll cause everyone to kiss goodbye to their 15% of the total credits. Guess what he replied, every one will have his or her chance. Then, I told myself why don't you take the chance as chances don't roll like a ball to you.

In conjunction of Civilisation Week, our lecture group will be organising some events like talks and interviews. Our topic is to educate so called adults to be punctual as most of the undergraduates especially the elder ones are not being punctual for lecture class, tutorial , etc. As you know it's difficult to educate adults to be punctual in university because there are no parents to nag them to wake up early. To make thing worst, most of us go to bed when it's almost 3 o' clock in the morning and the next class is at 8.00am. If you were in their shoes, will you be able to wake up to get yourself to the class?

Enjoying the view of Kuantan from a Different Perspective

On a rainy Sunday, I woke up early to prepare myself before going for an event organized by the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development in conjuction of the National Consumer Day.

A cycling tour from the Municipal Hall's field to the well-known Bay of Chempedak aka Teluk Chempedak.

It's an eight kilometres journey to there.

We were escorted by the traffic personel on duty to prevent any accidents from occurring during the event.

At the beach, we were asked to teamed-up to clean the lovely beach.

After an hour of cleaning the beach, I went to the Mc.Donald Drive-Thru Restaurant to get a Sundae Cone to treat myself.

Then our lunch were served. It was chicken rice cooked by the Red Crescent First Aid Member.

We left Teluk Chempedak a quater to one in the afternoon.

At the Municipal Hall Field we were presented certificates of participation and a lucky draw event was done. It was not my day, so no prizes for me.

Hope that I will be able to join such adventerous activity in the future.

Last week, I saw the news about reverting the language of teaching for Science and Mathematics back to our national language, Bahasa Malaysia at Petronas Petrol Station of KM26 Gambang.

Honestly I felt that the step of reverting back to Bahasa Malaysia is not a wise decission done by the cabinet and the minister of education himself.

I'm not in a state of opposing the decission of our governmernt but to express my feelings on the action done as a student of the second batch that undergoes the transition plan done by Dr. M or known as Che Det.

In year 2002 when the government announced that all the teaching of Science and Mathematics will be done in English, I felt reluctant about it since I'm from a non-eglish-speaking-school(Sekolah Kebangsaan Yacob Latif) before entering a Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bintang Utara where most of the students uses English as their second language after their mother tounge.

After undergoing the plan for five years, I felt that I'm lucky to be born in a right year since Science and Mathematics were taught in English because it has improved my command in English tremendously.

Besides it also transformed me from an introvert to an extrovert and more outspoken person.

When I entered university, I found it to be easier for me to learn compare to my seniors that studied their 'Sains dan Matematik' in Bahasa Malaysia.

I had even discussed this with my fellow friends from the rural areas of Sabah during my national service in Tawau, they supported the idea of Che Det because they said that this enable them to improve their ability to converse in that particular language and set a platform for them to prepare themselves before entering tertiary studies where most of the references are bountily in the language once became our lingua franca before independance.

If the natives of Sabah like Kadazan-Dusun, Suluk and Bajau where they are away from the norm of using the language felt the importance of the language as an instruction language for these two subjects, why citizens of Penisular Malaysia need to complain about when we are living at a region blessed with plenty of resources of knowing the language better.

If the government wants to revert it back to our national lingua franca, I think that we should wait for a few years to see the effectiveness of PPSMI. At least see the product of the first batch graduating from university and secured their jobs. In conclusion, politicians should not use education as a tool to please the RAKYAT to gain their votes.

Listen to the opinion of individuals that are professionals in the field of Science and Mathematics not the professionals in linguistic.

I hope that the decission done by our government is right and it will not ruined the future of our nation.

My Resting Zone in University

'Home Sweet Home', that's a phrase that is always in my mind wherever I travel.
I'm not a person with home-sick disorder like most person has although I share some of the symptoms of home-sick.
By using the phrase above, I try my effort to make my room as sweet as possible.
A person normally spend the most time in his/her room.
Therefore, room is the best place for us to reminisce our home when we are away from it.
It is important for every individual to have a lovely and comfort room.
It is very subjective to define a person's comfort towards his room.
That's why I'm using my effort to transform Room 4 of House 3 of Row K into a place I call comfort zone.

The Next Level of My Journey

On the 27th of June 2009, I went to Kuantan along with my parents. It took me, two and a half hours to travel from my house to the house of a friend of my family at Kuantan.
We overnight at his place since it is not easy for us to find accommodation in the heart of the largest city in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia after dusk.
The next morning, I woke up as early as half past six to finish up my final preparation before entering the gate of the institute that that I'm going to reside for three years.
At the guard house we were ushered by a few seniors to the registration center for new students.
Before entering the building to register, students were screened to ensure that there are no one infected by the swine flu a.k.a. H1N1 so that the university ground is free from that fatal influenza.
The registration took about three hours because there was a black-out occurring at the campus. For your information, all the registration are done via online thus none of the registration can be done till the electrical supply is restored.
At noon, I checked into my room and placed all my belongings accordingly.
In the evening, we had our first activity for our induction week for the new students(MIND'S @Minggu Induksi Siswa).
We were told about the vast difference in between the life of an undergraduate with a high school student.
Our MIND'S runs well for the whole week.
Yesterday I had my first lecture class at UNiversiti Malaysia Pahang and it's English for Communication.
I hope that the next level of my life will be smooth.

Revenge of the Fallen at IMAX Berjaya Times Square.

Today I went to IMAX Berjaya Times Square to watch the long-waited Transformers:Revenge of The Fallen by the well-known director of Pearl Harbor and Armageddon.
I bought an advanced ticket last week for RM11.00 . I'm given a cup of Coca Cola for free and I bought a regular popcorn from Golden Screen Cinemas at third floor for RM5.00 because the popcorn sold at IMAX is not up to my expectations though the volume of it for regular is slightly higher.
At the lobby of the cinema I met one of my NS-camp mate, Pralath from block Bravo.
Watching Optimus Prime at IMAX is like seeing him in person due to the size of the projection of the video. It's about five times larger than normal screen.
The place is disabled friendly because it has a lift to charter the disabled to their seats which normally located at row A and B( the best view).
Since I had promised James not to review on the movie till he watched it, I'm not going to discuss further about the plot.
Listen to my advise, it's a MUST WATCH movie of the year.

Firstly I would like to wish James and Winston for organizing such outing for me.

We had our lunch at Chili's of KLCC at half past noon.

Winston and I had beef burgers, while James had grilled ham with pita bread.

At the end of our lunch, we ordered a chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on it.

Then we went to Tanjung Golden Village ticket booth to get tickets of Alien vs. Monster.

After getting the tickets, we travel all the way to the ground floor by using the lift to a special spot told by James.

There, we relaxed ourselves and capture a few pictures of us together.

We were there for less than half an hour before going to Kinokuniya.

About 10 minutes before four in the evening we proceed to the cinema.

The movie was an enjoyable and hillarious one. Therefore I would like to recommend that it is a must watch movie of the month. besides Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen.

Last but not least, thanks to James and Winston.

The dorm that I'm residing won the Best Dorm Award.
It's Charlie.
We spent a lot of time decorating our dorm, sometimes we did not sleep to decorate it.
It's a sign of our unity of our dorm members.
Besides it shows the leadership of our dorm monitor, Lok Kah Yun that won the Best Male Participant Award.
Cleanliness and creativity will always be in our mind.
As the person in charge of the cleanliness of the dorm, along with my partner, we ensure that the dorm is always in clean and tidy condition.
May the future members of Charlie will uphold and retain our title with the guidance of Mr. Awang and Mr. Roslan (Cikgu Dewa)

M16 Riffle Lesson

On the 17th of May 2009, we had a theory class on how to handle firearm, M16 riffle (5.56mm).
The theory class is handled by the army from the Malay Regiment 516 Tawau.
The diameter of the bullet used is 5.56mm.
We are taught about the structure of the weapon and it's characteristics.
The velocity of the bullet is 990m/s.
With the mass of 2.94kg, the weapon is an option of most military including the US Army during the war with Vietnam.
Besides it is able to be used underwater, thus attacks can be made underneath the water.
We are also taught how to disassemble and assemble some of the parts of the gun.
The next day my company, Mat Kilau along with Rentap 91 went to the shooting range to undergo the shooting exercise.
We are not allowed to keep any of the bullets including blanks because it is against the law.
In the end of the session we are required to take an oath.

On the 9th of May 2009 some of my NS-mates completing their service earlier due to early enrolment of tertiary studies.
Therefore my friends decided to throw a mini farewell party for them.
Beside we asked of Camp's Commander to grant us permission to enter the training terrain to snap photos.

Flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau

On the 15th of April 2009, I took a flight from LCCT-KLIA to Tawau Airport after attending an interview at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Tronoh, Perak for Petronas Scholarship.
The flight from Sepang to Tawau took two hours and forty-five minutes.
I was lucky because the plane I aboard is travelling from west to east during evening. Thus I'm able to experience three changes of the horizone of the sky; daylight, sunset and night.
The panorama from the window of the plane is fantastic.

Kudat Trip

On the 5th of April 2009, I went to Tg. Simpang Mengayau, Kudat a.k.a Tip of Borneo with my cousin, William.
The journey from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat took about two hours and it was a bumpy ride to there.
Tip of Borneo divides the the water of Sabah into South China Sea and Sulu Sea.
Pulau Bangi and the town of Kudat is visible from the cape.
It is a must go place if you visit Kudat besides the Longhouse of Kudat.

National Service Medical Check-up and Opening of Agro Bank Account.

Today, I went to Klinik Kesihatan Cheras at Menara PGRM 2 to undergo a full medical check-up before flying to Kem San Shui,Tawau on this Thursday. The medical check-up took me three hours and fifteen minutes. I passed the medical check-up.
After completing my medical check-up, I went to the Agro Bank in Taman Tenaga to set up an Agro Bank account to allow JLKN to deposit my allowance.

Cameron Trip

On 15th march 2009, I went to Cameron Highlands for vacation with family before flying to Tawau for my National Service.
The journey to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur took four hours via the federal road.
On the way, we stopped at several places such as Bidor and Kuala Woh.
The first stop is Bidor. At Bidor, I had 'wan tan' noodles as my lunch and bought a few 'wu kok'.
After stopping at Bidor, we moved to the next stop, Tapah to refill my uncle's tank.
Then, we detoured to Kuala Woh Hot Springs. At Kuala Woh, I placed my legs into the hot spring and felt relaxed.
We spent about half and hour at Kuala Woh.
Lata Iskandar is our last stop before heading towards Cameron Highlands. Lata Iskandar is the place we had 'ayam percik'.
Finally we reached the apartment tha we rented for RM220 and we unpacked our luggage.
Agro Park is the first place we visited. We had plenty of strawberries at Agro Park.
Later we went to Boh Tea plantation and had 'teh tarik' prepared by some locals working at the plantation.
Then we return to our aparment and had our nap.
When we woke up, it's 7 o' clock and it's time for us to have our dinner.
After dinner, we went to the night market and bought several souvenirs.
At half past ten, we went to Tanah Rata for a sight-seeing session. When we are tired we entered Starbucks at Tanah Rata, I had a hot Hazelnut Chocolate drink.
We went for bed around half past twelve.
The next day, we went to a temple before going to the bee farm at Kea Farm.
Then we went to the market and had our lunch before packing our luggage and head back to Kuala Lumpur.

National Service Letter

This morning I received a letter from Jabatan Latihan Khidmat Negara(JLKN).
I'm going to have a medical check-up this coming Tuesday and open an account for Bank Pertanian after my vaction in Cameron Highlands during this weekend.
After receiving the letter, I went back to school to certify my certificates for my applications for tertiary studies.
At school I met several teachers, including Pn. Song and Pn. Jeyanthi.
Pn. Sheela, ooops it's Dr. Sheela certified my certs for me.
Then I went to Pudu to withdraw cash to be used to buy the items need to be used during my journey in Tawau, Sabah for National Service from 19th March till 8th june 2009.
I hope that the whole two and a half months there will be memorable and something that I will cherish.

SPM Result.

This morning, I was awaken by my phone's alarm clock around 7 o'clock in the morning.
The first thing I did was checking the newspapers about today's date to confirm that I'm getting my result today or not.
Then I took my breakfast and take my bath.
Later, I turn on my computer and check my mail before going to school.
I reached school around a quarter past nine.
At school, I saw Thiban and Shazrie.
Then, out of sudden I saw the current Fifth Formers of the school like Dhar, Ee Laine, Erin and etc. around the Skylite.
Since the result is not out yet, I went to the cooperative stall to get some drinks to get rid of my thirst. In front of the cooperative stall, I saw some Interact members selling J.Co doughnuts and I bought a piece of doughnut from them to show some so called senior's support.
After ingesting the doughnut, I entered the cooperative stall and I was greeted by the Coop Auntie while buying a bottle of mineral water from the stall.
When I'm done with my drink, I went to the school canteen and saw a few former SBU students.
About 11 o' clock, our results is being distributed by our former form teachers and I'm among the first to receive my result. I'm in a state of euphoria when I saw my result, I scored 9 1A's and 2A's, total of 11A's.
I hugged my former form teacher, Pn. Nursham as sign of being grateful to her.

Last 24 Hours of Waiting

Today is 11th March 2009. There's about 24 hours left for the students that took their SPM last year to receive their results.
Tonight will be an awful night to spend because we might feel nervous. Besides, anxiety will also be with us together.
Anyway I wishes all the best to all the candidates of SPM 2008...

Talk on UPU at 3C, Sunway.

Yesterday, 8th March 2009, I attended a talk on UPU and several IPTA organised by MPSJ at 3C (Children Creative Centre).
I was the first participant to turn up for the talk, about half-passed twelve went I reached there.
At there counter I registered and greeted by a few warm-hearted usherers.
The talk is done by an experienced speaker named Eddie. During his talk, he threw several questions to the audience to draw their attention towards his talk packed with some useful ideas about our path after leaving school before entering the world of employment.
I would like to thank the organizer for having such event for us.
The talk ended at four o' clock.
After the talk, I manage to have some precious time with the Eddie to ask him for more detailed information.
When I'm done asking valuable questions, I exited the hall and made my own tour at the complex.
Through out my tour, I found out that the building is well managed and realised that the building appeared to be useful compare to the reports of the public saying that it is not fully ultillised.
The complex is the venue for a school for autistic students, ballet class, jamming, library, summer camp and recreation activities.
