Within These Wall

Its nearly two years since I graduated from SBU or formerly known as Bukit Bintang Girls School...
Some of you might ask why a boy like me graduating from a girl school...
To answer that, SBU is actually a co-ed school formed in 2003 and I'm the first batch of boys admitted to this school...after BBGS was demolished in 2001 to make way for the development of Pavilion KL which is a majestic mall for shopping...
During these break, in a serendipity I played some of the videos I made using Windows Movie Maker few months back and I listened to 'Within These Wall'...
The following is the lyrics of the song:

Within These Wall

If through these walls, we can hear the stories long ago

Those BBGS dreams their hopes and more
If through these walls, we can see the days before
We'll see the joy, the rise and growth
Every smile that greets hello

Names may change and faces pass
But the tune's the same we'll make it last
We'll learn these words before they come to pass
BBGS in my heart, ten decades we've grown to love
Add a hundred more, my heart will still belong
Within these cherished walls

Here on these walls, I found meanings of love
To conquer fears to wipe the sorrow tears
Here I learnt of friends, learnt to give a helping hand
And when I'm lost, they'll guide my way with God's will till the end...

Names may change and faces pass
But the tune's the same we'll make it last
We'll learn these words before they come to pass
Within these walls we've built our lives
For a hundred years it stayed with us
Let us keep it standing strong...

Hope that the school spirit of BBGS/SBU last eternally...

  1. LOL... You know what my teacher said when I told her I come from BBGS? "No, you don't. SBU is not BBGS. The culture and history of the school is like the fate of the building - demolished."

    Btw, I thought we're the 2nd batch...

  2. I was the first batch but you are the second...
Have you forgotten that I'm admitted in SBU when I'm Year 6...
Regarding the culture, it depends on the individual as I still reminisce the school whenever I see a choral speaking performance...
Although BBGS is not equals to SBU, but SBU is the descendant of BBGS...
Culture of school changes due to the conservative minds of the management of the school along with some groups of students after Dato' Noor Reezan's administration.
